While
Time Systems is not a payroll processing service
and does not sell payroll software, we are a critical link in the
process of producing an accurate payroll. TSI helps
our clients provide the accurate raw data that is critical to producing
an accurate finished payroll.
There is an old data processing acronym: GIGO (Garbage In.
Garbage Out). We come across employers every day that cannot get an
accurate finished payroll from their payroll service or payroll software,
and it’s not the fault of the payroll service or payroll software!
The problem is bad data going into the system. In fact, many of our
clients were recommended to us by their payroll software supplier
or payroll processing service because the raw payroll data the client
was supplying was not accurate or reliable!
TSI insures that whatever time management
solution we recommend, it will seamlessly integrate with the
payroll service or payroll processing software our client is using.
If you are not satisfied with your current payroll processor
or payroll processing software, we can make unbiased recommendations
of payroll processors or payroll software you should consider based
on our understanding of your needs and unique applications, as well
as the relative capabilities of the payroll services in your area
and the payroll software that’s out there today.
Should you prepare your finished payroll in-house using payroll
software, or should you out source your payroll preparation to one
of the payroll processors? There are several factors to consider:
» |
In-House
Capabilites: If you have a high degree of in-house capabilities,
and are you are using time and attendance enterprise software,
processing your payroll in-house with payroll software may be
the logical option. |
» |
Web-Based Time
and Attendance: If, however, you are using web-based
time and attendance software, and you prefer to out source as
many non-core processes as you can, a payroll service–especially an ASP or web-based payroll processing service–makes
sense. |
» |
Multi-State Workforce:
Also, if you have employees in several states, a payroll service
will probably have more expertise in dealing with the different
withholding rates and reporting requirements of these states. |
