Most
employers have seen a dramatic increase in employee overtime, and
unfortunately much of that increase is the result of either unworked
or unauthorized overtime: Employees who were paid for overtime that
was not worked, or paid for overtime that was never authorized! Only
an automated employee attendance system can put an end to unauthorized
overtime!
Increased overtime has several causes, all of which can be
totally eliminated with the right employee attendance tracking system:
» |
Unauthorized Overtime:
An automated employee attendance system will clock out
an employee who has worked unauthorized overtime, but it will
not include the employee’s unauthorized overtime in the
raw payroll data it computes for that employee! And when an
employee clocks out after working unauthorized overtime, the
employee attendance system will notify the employee that he
or she worked, but will not get paid, for his or her unauthorized
overtime! |
» |
Unworked
Overtime: An automated employee attendance system eliminates
the practice known as “buddy punching” (one employee
clocking in our out for another). Joe is running late, so Fred
grabs Joe’s time card and clocks him in. Sally wants to
get paid some overtime, so she goes home at 4:30 but has Joanne
clock her out at 7:15. Employees claiming–and getting
paid for–unworked overtime happens every day at employers
who have an outdate employee attendance system. A truly automated
employee attendance tracking system totally eliminates unworked
overtime. |

Unauthorized,
Unworked Overtime! Talk about pushing the envelope. Many
employees regularly use “buddy punching” to get
paid for overtime that was NEVER authorized and that they did
NOT work! Outdated employee attendance systems enable this to
happen, while a state-of-the-art automated employee time and
attendance solution totally eliminates it, and does so without
having to discipline an employee! |
